My name is Heath Killen, and I am a passionate and versatile freelance graphic designer & artist.
I am always open to meeting new clients, agencies & studios, and fostering exciting creative partnerships with them.
I offer my clients the opportunity to have a truly distinctive and original look for their design needs, with work that is vivid, unconventional and engaging. Much of my work combines both digital and handmade processes, experimental typography, and bold colours. I am comfortable working in a variety of different styles, and I relish the opportunity to explore new ideas and techniques.
During my 5 years as a freelance designer I have been fortunate enough to work for a diverse range of clients from around the world, including musicians, festivals, government organizations, universities and private enterprise.
My work has been featured on a variety of blogs and websites, and has been published in the 2009 Semi Permanent book as well as magazines such as Design Week. I’ve also given talks on design and my work at Newcastle University and Look Hear.
In addition to my design work, I am also available for freelancing writing commissions. I’ve written pieces for the Powerhouse Museum and Linefeed, and I regularly write critical design analysis on this blog, with a primary focus on design for music, Australian design history, and experimental contemporary design.
If you’re interested in a commission, collaboration, or just a chat, I’d love to hear from you
